Lecompte Calvados was founded in 1923 by Alexandre LECOMPTE and sold in 1978 to Yves Pellerin. While continuing to work using traditonal methods, Calvados Lecompte has rapidly learned how to make the best of new technologies and is now an internationally recognised name. Lecompte Calvados retains elegance, fine structure and smoothness even in its young 5 year old. They also succeed in keeping the real and original flavours of the product - the apple.

Daron Calvados Pays D'Auge
The apple trees used in the production of Daron Calvados grow on the chalky, clay soil in the north of Normandy, the Pays d'Auge. To produce this balanced and harmonious calvados, several varieties of cider apple are used. The bitter and bittersweet varieties give exceptionally rich flavours. To lend distinction and elegance, Daron Calvados orchards are planted with a small number of pear trees. The Calvados is made from the first juice of pressed apples. As soon as fermentation is complete, the fresh cider is placed in the boiler for the first distillation. Daron Calvados is the result of double distillation in "alambic a repasse" or Charentais stills". It is aged in small old oak casks placed on bare, beaten ground in typical damp, temperate storehouses.
