Vesselle Grand Cru Bouzy

The Vesselle family has lived for several generations on the Coteau de Bouzy, one of the finest Grand Cru of the Champagne region. Their 42 acres of vineyards are situated in the Montagne de Reims. They benefit from an exceptionally sunny exposure guaranteeing the highest quality for their Champagne and Red Bouzy. The blending of the cuvées is composed of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, thus combining both a fruity character and finesse in perfect harmony.
Red Bouzy is made from their oldest vineyards and only during vintage years. This Pinot Noir, matured in barrels, produces a very special wine.

Pol Roger

Pol Roger

Pol Roger, a Champenois from the village of Ay, founded his Champagne house in Epernay in 1849. Through five generations of the Pol-Roger family, his direct descendants have owned and run this proudly independent family firm, which is counted today among the most prestigious in Champagne.

The unique and delightful style of these wines soon attracted an international following of loyalists….Winston Churchill being the most famous. The Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill was created in his honour in 1984 and is one of the greatest prestige cuvées of modern times. Of his passion for Pol Roger, his daughter remarked, " I saw him many times the better for it, but never the worse".

Ruinart

The history behind the House of Ruinart goes back to the actual origins of Champagne. It was at the beginning of the 18th century that the Benedictine monk Dom Thierry Ruinart became acquainted with the precious secret of the making of "the wine which sparkles". He passed his secret to his nephew Nicolas Ruinart who founded the first House of Champagne in 1729.
When the grapes are pressed the House of Ruinart uses only the wines from the first pressing which are called "vins de cuvée". After the "tirage" (bottling) the wines are left to rest for 3 to 8 years, the time to reach perfect maturity, in the famous Ruinart chalk-cellars, which in fact are gallo-roman quarries, now listed as an "Historical Monument".
